Terms of Service

Effective Date: December 6, 2025

Welcome to StudentMart ("the Platform"), an online matching service that connects East African students with scholarship providers, donors, and organizations offering educational freebies. StudentMart does not fund students, award scholarships, distribute resources, or handle logistics. We simply connect verified students with verified donors, and all physical items are delivered directly to the student's registered school to eliminate fraud and protect minors.

By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you may not use StudentMart.

1. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Platform.
  • Students under 18 must obtain verifiable parental or guardian consent during registration.
  • You must be located in or studying in an East African Community (EAC) country (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, DR Congo) or be a donor supporting students from these countries.

2. Account Registration and Verification

  • You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
  • Students must submit valid National ID, Birth Certificate, or Student ID, plus a verifiable school code or ID.
  • Donors must submit valid government-issued ID or organization registration documents and KRA PIN where applicable.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that fail verification or are found to be fraudulent.

3. Core Rules of the Platform

3.1 No Direct Funding or Distribution

StudentMart never sends money or items directly to students or their families.

3.2 School-Only Delivery Policy

All items such as uniforms, shoes, books, and sanitary towels must be delivered by the donor directly to the student's verified school. No home addresses are shared, and no donor-student meetups are allowed through the Platform.

3.3 Prohibited Actions

  • Creating fake accounts or impersonating others.
  • Attempting to bypass verification processes.
  • Soliciting or offering cash payments outside the Platform.
  • Organizing or requesting in-person meetings with students.
  • Using the Platform for commercial purposes unrelated to education.
  • Harassing, threatening, or exploiting other users.

4. Fees and Payments

  • Student Premium Auto-Matching: Ksh 20 (one-time or per term).
  • Corporate Donor Badge: Ksh 100,000 annual verification fee.
  • All payments are processed via approved channels and are non-refundable unless required by law.

5. Matching and Connections

  • StudentMart uses AI and manual review for recommendations.
  • No guarantees are made regarding scholarship awards or freebies.
  • Final decisions occur between donors, schools, and students.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform, including logos, UI, text, and software, is owned by StudentMart or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the Platform's content without written permission.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee opportunity availability, accuracy, or user behavior.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the extent allowed by law, StudentMart and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits or data.

9. Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account for violating these Terms or for any reason with or without notice.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Disputes will first be resolved through negotiation, then mediation in Nairobi. If mediation fails, the courts in Nairobi have exclusive jurisdiction.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notifications. Continued use of the Platform means you accept the updated Terms.
